It's a brazenly pop tune; the music is way off the scale of anything I'd write. I just supplied words for lots of songs here.
I have to hand it to her: Sara did a great job singing this. We have similar ranges, but she just has a killer voice. But this is the story of a woman who has lived awhile, been through the mill for many years, had her heart broken many times, and is now jaded and cynical but still keeps falling in love anyway. Maybe Sara had a couple bad breakups, but this song is not the story of someone in her 20s. This is about somebody who's been around the block quite a few times. This is my story.
I didn't say I wouldn't write any love songs; I just told them I wouldn't write one "today."
I hear this is featured in a movie now. I'd like to get paid for that.
